Jam Night Before My Party/First Blog

Here we go!!! This is the beginning of Bagel Blog and the perfect way to start it off is the night before the website launch and my birthday party... So my whole day was a Spinal Tap Day. First my laptop started going on me. Then my friend and I were supposed to put together my newly painted guitar and he text me saying he won't be home til Monday. Then the guy who was supposed to sing 3 songs for me text me saying and I quote "The only song I know is Train Kept A Rollin, so put me down for that"...What the fuck?!?!? You said you were down to sing a few songs!! UGH!!!!! So now I am gonna wind up singing more than I wanted to sing. I was already singing 2 songs and didn't want to sing more. So now I am sing 4,5 or maybe even 6 songs!! UGH!! I haven't sang in years and there's no monitors at Snitch!!! We had to change the set list all around dropped 3 songs added 3 more to suit my voice ...well kinda but what ever it's only Rock and Roll!! So my friend Mike who's playing drums for me comes and get's me and we are off to Eric's to jam. Mike and Eric also own a Mexican restaurant called Tito's Burrito's in Summit New Jersey and Mike brought me dinner. YUM! We get to Eric's and I eat and Mike and I talk about me singing and how I really don't want to. I tell him I called my old drummer Bobby in Texas to get my confidence up and both Mike, Eric and Bobby are like..."Dude, you gotta sing". So I went through some songs and found one to change out. Then I have to learn another one and then another song that my friend Tommy is doing. It's Tommy's birthday today so, we are celebrating his birthday too! After eating Eric , Mike and I jam on some things....this is the first and only real practice we are having so we are really doing it by the skin of our teeth. After going through a few things and talking Tommy shows up. Tommy's playing guitar on a few songs and singing...Thank god! We all go through a few songsand then my friend John shows up. John is also playing guitar on a few songs. So now we kind of have the whole band and John's fucked cause I tell him he needs to learn like 3 songs on the spot!LOL He does it with no problem, which I knew he could and we run through a few songs and it sounds OK. Now my anxiety is going away. I'm feeling a lil better about singing. We keep changing songs til we find what's gonna work. After awhile of playing, a few beers, things are working out pretty good. We have a few more beers and eat some chips and salsa that Mike brought from Tito's and we are feeling a lil more comfortable with each other. Remember I know everyone but they are really all meeting tonight and jamming for the first time...except for Mike and Eric. So after a lil while longer it's time to wrap this up and get on our way home to rest for the show tomorrow...So this is it! Tomorrow is my birthday party and the launch of Bagel Blog....It should be interesting write about it on Saturday...Hope some of you guys are coming ..... Over the next few days/weeks I will posting about my NAMM trip, the HellYeah!/Machine Head show, a few nights I am hanging out with the guys from Queensryche and of course my Party. I also have a backlog of pictures from shows and some pretty funny stories you guys might wanna hear...So stay tuned!! Peace Out! Bagel
